Junior Group Controller

As a Junior Group Controller, you will be a key player in the finance team. In this role, you will manage the financial health of our organization. Your focus will be on the monthly and yearly closing procedures of all our entities, including the consolidation and reporting.  You will ensure compliance with accounting principles, build and maintain a robust internal control framework and contribute to our strategic finance plans.

Due to the quick and continuous growth of the company, you will be operating in a dynamic environment. You work intensively with the financial teams of the various entities and with the Group Finance team, including the Group Financial Controller, who will be your mentor. Your manager is the Group Director Accounting & Reporting. Your role is highly visible in the organization and offers excellent opportunity for growth.

Tasks and responsibilities

• Ensure timely and accurate month-end and year-end closing. You will coordinate the financial closing process, gather, consolidate and validate the financial data in Lucanet (our consolidation tool)
• Perform financial analysis with special attention for intercompany transactions
• Ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures, develop and update these
• Assist in the development and implementation of internal controls and further strengthening of our internal control framework
• Prepare annual accounts and perform balance sheet reviews.
• Support ESG reporting, ensuring we comply with the applicable Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) requirements
• Coordinate the external audit by being the key contact for the external auditors and ensuring the external audit is a smooth process
• Participate in ad hoc projects and assignments as needed, such as the integration of new acquisitions in our finance structure
• Pro-actively support and advise in developing and further professionalizing the finance department

• A completed bachelor or master’s degree in accounting, economics, business administration or a comparable discipline;
• Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards (Dutch GAAP, IFRS)
• At least 3 years of experience in accounting or auditing
• Extensive knowledge of financial closing processes, consolidation and reporting
• Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel and financial modelling
• Experience with Lucanet and BI is a plus
• Strong analytical skills, able to present financial information in a clear way
• Good command of the Dutch and English language, both orally and in writing.
