Amsterdam, The Netherlands – 4 January, 2024: The Digital Neighborhood, a growing community of 13 independent tech companies specializing in Microsoft Cloud and AI, is delighted to announce a leadership change within its Pink Elephant Netherlands business. Effective, 1 January 2024, Perry van der Weijden assumes the role of CEO at Pink Elephant, taking over the reins from Rob van Rinsum and Mark de Lange.

Perry joined Pink Elephant in October 2023 and already made a significant impact as a board member, where he’s been leading Pink Elephant’s internal organization and integrating its new business unit, DMP. Perry’s impressive track record includes roles as CIO and Chief Engineer Director of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management (Rijkswaterstaat) and as the founder and General Manager of the Shared Services Organization of the Dutch Ministry of the Interior (Ministerie van Binnenlandse Zaken). He was also named “CIO of the Year” in 2019.

Rob and Mark will transition to full-time roles as the Group’s Practice Leads for Cloud Infrastructure & Security across Northern Europe. They will be responsible for overseeing the expansion and development of the Practice, alongside The Digital Neighborhood’s other three practices: Cloud Consultancy & App Development, Business Management Solutions, and Data Science & Business Intelligence. This strategic move aims to bolster The Digital Neighborhood’s position as a leading Microsoft Cloud and AI player in Northern Europe. Mark and Rob have also now been appointed as full-time members of The Digital Neighborhood’s Management Board.

Pink Elephant is a crucial player within The Digital Neighborhood, with a strong focus on the modern workplace, specializing in outsourcing, storage/back-up services, security services, professional services, and hardware services.

Having known and worked with Perry for several years in different roles, Rob van Rinsum and Mark de Lange are excited about Perry taking the reins as CEO. Over the past few months as Director of Pink Elephant, they’ve seen his outstanding contributions and anticipate his new leadership role with confidence. Expressing trust in Perry’s track record and recent achievements with Pink, they said, “We’re thrilled that Perry is stepping up to lead Pink. His proven expertise in organizational integration, along with a keen understanding of our team and customers, makes him an invaluable asset. Perry is attuned to the pulse of our organization, and his leadership marks a pivotal moment for Pink Elephant as we gear up for the next phase of growth, placing a strong emphasis on the evolving IT experience for end users. This includes the integration of AI to enhance efficiency and smarter working. We believe Perry will elevate our commitment to delivering even greater value to both our existing and future customers.”

Perry sees the workplace as the heartbeat of ongoing digital transformation within organizations. He said, “In the years ahead, we’ll witness more innovation in the workplace, particularly with the emergence of AI, and improved information accessibility. There are significant opportunities for Pink Elephant in this dynamic landscape.” Perry also sees the substantial advantages of collaborating with other businesses in The Digital Neighborhood to deliver a comprehensive suite of services to the Group’s valued client base.
